Keeping in view the larger public interest , various innovative projects have been launched by the Administration and in order to assist the function to pursue development strategies to complete them under a time bound manner, the Project Monitoring System has been evolved as a tool to effectively monitor the projects.

Permit Management System is being developed by SPIC to be implemented at the Chandigarh Administration’s Excise and Taxation Department. The scope of the project has been defined to include computerised permit generation, permit printing with pre-printed stationary, permit search and record of the various liquor quotas to be implemented (if any) among others.
The Permit Management System is proposed to have a centralized database which shall reduce the problem of storing and retrieving the data. Using the system, the officers in the Excise and Taxation Department shall be able to work more efficiently by reducing the amount of file work involved in the various permit related procedures.
The permit management system shall include easy permit generation utility, permit cancellation utility, a module to revalidate the permits and calculate fees dynamically among other features. Authentication as well as authorization features are to be incorporated so as to provide a high level of security to avoid any misuse of the system. Some features of the system are:-
