SPIC celebrates Fifth Anniversary

SPIC celebrated its 5th anniversary at SPIC-Microsoft Centre of Excellence Sector 12, Chandigarh on August 29, 2006. Society for Promotion of IT in Chandigarh (SPIC) under the aegis of Department of IT, Chandigarh Administration came in to existence in August 2001. Since then SPIC has taken big stride forward and is now actively involved in all prominent IT activities of Chandigarh. Anniversary celebrations started with cake cutting ceremony which was attended by Manjit Brar, Director IT and CEO-SPIC, Chandigarh Administration, Vivek Atray, Director Public Relations & Tourism, Chandigarh Administration and Sanjay Tyagi, Director STPI. Others present were CEO's of all the IT companies at SPIC Incubation Centre and employees of SPIC. Anniversary celebrations were followed by stupendous lunch at SPIC.

SPIC Trainings under NITTTR agreement

SPIC has trained more than 2000 teachers under the agreement with National Instutite of Technical Teachers Training and Research Insitutute, Chandigarh. The trainings were conducted on MS-Office, Visual Basic, Core Java, Web Designing, Flash, and AutoCad in various colleges in Himachal Pradesh, Punjab, Haryana, Rajasthan and Uttar Pradesh..

SPIC Pass Outs

The centre of Excellence presented certificates to its students for the courses they had undertaken, in a function at the office. As many as fifty students completed their respective courses in various streams like MCSE, C & C++, Web Designing, Visual Basic, Auto Cad and MS-Office. Among those Who had availed the courses included employees of CITCO, Home Science College, Chandigarh Engineering College and ITI.

Net Solutions

Net Solutions is an India based website design and development company. Net Solution started their operations from SPIC IT Incubation Centre with 4 web site developer in August 2001. Their core competency was strategic in web design, e-commerce solutions and custom Internet application development. Over the period of time Net Solution has done so well that they have moved out of the SPIC IT Incubation Centre and has started their operation from DLF campus. They have taken 6000 Sq. Feet area in DLF campus and they have 200 employees on its rolls. They also have one built to site plot at Rajiv Gandhi Chandigrh Technology Park where they have plot under SEZ status and they are soon starting the construction of there site at RGCTP. Net Solution use Cold Fusion ASP, XML, JAVA and edge Flash Technologies in developing websites.
